The 31-year-old former NFL star turned fireman was one of two climbers discovered by emergency personnel on Wednesday at Tahquitz Rock close to Idyllwild in the San Bernardino National Forest, according to reports on Twitter from the authorities.
In a subsequent tweet, the Cal Fire and Riverside County Fire Department noted, “Rescuers made access to the location of the victims,” noting that Escobar and Chelsea Walsh, 33, had both “perished at the scene.”
