Deven Dutta was born on April 5, 1944 in Sivasagar. From a young age, he exhibited a keen interest in learning and a passion for making a positive impact on society. His academic journey led him to achieve a post-graduate degree in English in 1965. He was married to Arundhati Dutt who passed away a few years back.
Prominent educationalist of the state Deven Dutta passed away in Guwahati just after midnight on Friday and was 81 years old at the time of death.
He was suffering from several medical conditions including cardiac, renal and pulmonary problems and was admitted to the Gauhati Medical College Hospital on August 11 and was under care since then and it was informed that Deven Dutta passed away at around 12:10 AM on Friday.
He completed his post-graduation in English in 1965 and later on became a professor of the subject at the prestigious Cotton College of Guwahati and later he was given the position of the Vice Principal of the same institution in 2001.
