Cook is a basketball player, but for the time being, he will play as a wing. Here’s everything you need to know about Cook as he prepares to take on the role of LeBron James.
All about Mookie Cook
Mookie Cook is a five-star recruit who 247Sports named the No. 5 player in the Class of 2023. Before committing to playing in Oregon, Cook received offers from 22 schools including Gonzaga, Kentucky, Arizona, Auburn, Texas Tech, UCLA, USC, and more.
The Oregon native is the second-highest-rated recruit in Oregon history, behind only Magic center Pol Bol. Although Cook is from Oregon, he played his high school ball at Compass Prep in Chandler, Arizona.
He averaged 11.5 points per game last season and led Compass Prep to his second straight appearance at the GEICO Nationals, according to MaxPreps. He’s the second-ranked recruit
Cook is 6-7 pounds and weighs 200 pounds. While James is 6-9 now, he was 6-7 as a senior in high school. So Cook’s physique should match James’ physique at St. Vincent.
