Eight second-round matches were played in a jam-packed double session on the third day of European Championship Darts at the Westfalenhalle. In a stunning show of power scoring, former champion Peter Wright defeated Rowby-John Rodriguez by score of 10-4 to continue his quest for second European Championship title.
In front of 7,000 spectators, Ross Smith triumphed over Dimitri Van den Bergh 10-8 in the curtain-raiser on Saturday night with an average of 101 and eight 180s. Additionally, Michael Smith advanced to Sunday’s round of eight after outdueling Northern Irish phenom Josh Rock with a masterful display of darting. Humphries, the top seed, kept up his quest for a first-ever televised ranking victory by outlasting Ryan Searle 10-6 in another quick-fire match.
After a slow start, Dirk van Duijvenbode outplayed 2018 champion James Wade with a blitz of power scoring to claim his fifth straight triumph over the left-hander. In another match, Dave Chisnall stunned Jonny Clayton thanks to brilliant late push, which allowed him to set up clash against Chris Dobey for place semi-final.
Elsewhere, Chisnall overcame a terrible start to defeat Clayton by score of 10-6. On Sunday, 2022 European Championship Darts will culminate after another jam-packed double session, with the quarterfinals taking place in afternoon session and final taking place during spectacular evening session followed by semi-final matches.

In contrast to the runner-up, who will earn £60,000 in prize money, the winner of 2022 European Championship Darts will receive £120,000. From the £500,000 in total prize money, each competitor will get guaranteed cash award of £6,000.
