The medal-deciding games for EuroBasket 2022 were played on Sunday in Berlin, with Spain winning the gold medal by defeating France 88-76 and Germany defeating Poland 82-69 in the bronze medal play-off.

Spain defeated France 88-76 on Sunday to win the FIBA EuroBasket 2022 gold medal after a thrilling competition. For Spain, Toronto Raptors forward Juancho Hernangomez was the star performer with 27 points & five rebounds while his brother Willy Hernangomez chipped in with 14 points & eight rebounds of his own. Spain had a 21-point lead at one point in the second quarter, and despite France getting as close as three points in the third, Spain answered with nine straight points and was never seriously challenged again.
With this victory, Spain have won their fourth European championship in last six attempts, all under coach Sergio Scariolo. Spanish squad had more to celebrate as Willy Hernangomez was voted the tournament’s MVP with averages of 17.2 points & 6.9 rebounds per game, .
Earlier in the day, Germany faced Poland in bronze-medal and as expected, they dominated from start with Dennis Schroeder scoring 26 points. Despite best efforts from Poland, Germany won the match with a score of 82-69 and claimed the bronze-medal. For Poland, Jakub Garbacz scored 12 points to support Michal Sokolowski, who kept the challenge of Poland alive with 18 points.
