Euro 2020: Players Who Will Be Playing Their Last Euro

Euro 2020 is completing 60 years of the tournament. So, here is a list of some of the star players who will play their last Euro in the 2020 edition.

Euro 2020 is all set to start from 11th June as it was pushed back last year due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Furthermore, to mark the 60th anniversary of the competition 11 cities will be hosting the tournament.

Like every other major competition, this Euro will also be the last of some great players. Moreover, we will be seeing some of our favorite players playing last time in Euro. So, let’s just sit back tight and enjoy the game of these players for the last time in Euro.

Players Who Will Represent Their Country For The Last Time in Euro 2020

5. Georgio Chiellini

This might be the last competition for 36 years old Chiellini as he expressed his desire to retire after Euro 2020. Furthermore, he is one of the toughest defenders in the world and has won almost every domestic cup with Juventus at club level.

Despite being so good, Chiellini has never won any major tournament with Italy. Italy was runner-up in 2012 Euro and after that, they saw a downfall. Moreover, Chiellini is the captain of the Italian side will try his best to make this Euro memorable.

4. Luka Modric

The Real Madrid midfielder is now 35 years old and is still running on the field like a 28-year old. Although, the world saw the prime Modric in his 30s when he won back-to-back UCL with Madrid and took his team to the 2018 World cup final.

Moreover, Modric is a Ballon d’Or winner and is always considered as one of the best midfielders in the world. Modric has been awarded by the nation’s best footballer for a record nine times. There is no doubt that he will once again amaze us in Euro 2020 with his performance.

3. Pepe

One of the strongest and wildest defenders in the world. And still at the age of 36 Pepe never fails to deliver and that too with expression. Moreover, he is a part of the champions team Portugal and is a key player for his team.

Earlier this season, his team Porto made an amazing run in UCL and knocked out Juventus. Pepe is in form and that is what Portugal needs to defend the title.

2. Manuel Neuer

Neuer is arguably one of the best goalkeepers in the last 10 years. Moreover, he is well known for his sweeper-keeper name as he plays high line as a shot-stopper which is very very rare. The 2014 world cup winner is now 35 years old and is still fit to continue. But, will he continue for the next four years? That doesn’t seem possible for now.

Neuer is the first German goalkeeper to feature in 100 international matches. The shot-stopper is the captain of the side.

1. Cristiano Ronaldo

No one cannot comment on Ronaldo’s future or fitness. He is one of the fittest athletes in the whole world and is still scoring a lot of goals at the age of 36. Recently, in a friendly against Spain, he sprinted 60 meters in just 7-9  seconds and you’ll never see this from a 36-year-old.

Moreover, Ronaldo might feature in his last Euro as he said earlier that the 2022 World Cup will be his last. So, he might hang up his boots after that.
