Esports World Cup 2024 start date and venue

The competition, hosted by Esports World Cup Foundation, is a marquee event set to feature the largest prize pool in eSports history. The competition will feature teams battling across games from various genres to become the ultimate world champion. Notably, the Esports World Cup will replace Gamers8, which is a renowned eSports festival that takes place in Saudi Arabia.  Gamers8 featured over 20 different competitions across titles such as League of Legends, Fortnite, DOTA 2, FIFA 23, Rainbow Six Siege, PUBG Mobile, Starcraft I and more.


The first-ever Esports World Cup will start off on 17 July later this year in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Ahead of the start of the competition, Esports World Cup Foundation CEO Ralf Reichert stated in an interview:

First-person and tactical shooters are a cornerstone of gaming and esports and played by billions internationally. We’re bringing together all the best games to connect an unprecedented variety of global communities. We’re excited to have them participate in this first-of-its-kind event.”

The inaugural edition of the competition will reportedly take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The upcoming competition will feature a massive total prize pool of between $30 and $50 million. Fans can expect the upcoming competition to rival DOTA 2’s The International.
