Pep Guardiola’s team is eight points behind Premier League leaders Arsenal despite having played one fewer game than the north Londoners and is in desperate need of a victory against the Reds.

The two title contenders will still face off this season at the Etihad Stadium, with Mikel Arteta, the Arsenal manager, coming back on April 27.

In the rematch at the Emirates, the visitors won 3-1 thanks to goals from Kevin De Bruyne, Jack Grealish, and of course, Haaland, who has scored an incredible 28 times in just 26 league games this season.

When can Erling Haaland return?

Haaland will be sidelined for some time after sustaining a groin injury during the battle. That was confirmed after he reported for national duty with Norway. He was ultimately sent home as a result.

The main question at this point is how long he will miss. Haaland needs to be fit and ready to go for Man City’s key encounter against Liverpool at the beginning of April.

The same is true for the team’s other key players as the crucial period of the season gets closer.

Fortunately, the available evidence suggests that nothing serious is occurring. It is wiser to send the player home to prevent the injury from getting worse.

The athlete should be ready to play when club football returns after having had more than two weeks to rest and heal.

Unless further testing at the Etihad Stadium reveals that the damage is more severe than first believed, this shouldn’t cause any alarm.
