However, under Morgan’s leadership, England beat New Zealand at Lord’s to lift their maiden 50-over World Cup title. Morgan played a pivotal role in improving the English side. Under his leadership, the Three Lions played more ruthlessly and dominated the game even in moments when they were lagging.

Aside from 50-over cricket, the English team under Morgan also played in the 2016 T20 World Cup finals, losing out to West Indies.
