2022 English Open Schedule, Date, Time, Venue, Draw, Format, & Qualified Players
David Gilbert defeated Mohamed Ibrahim 4-2 in Leicester qualifying, compiling an impressive 132 break along the way to securing his spot at the English Open. Following his win, Gilbert will compete against Yuan Sijun for a place in the round-of-32 as Yuan defeated Rebecca Kenna 4-0 thanks to three plus-50 breaks.
Meanwhile, Anthony McGill defeated David Grace 4-3 with closing runs of 76, 82, & 66 to book his place in next round, where he will face-off against Michael White. Elsewhere in the round of 64, Ricky Walden will clash against Liam Highfield after overcoming from 1-3 deficit to win by score of 4-3 during his match against Bai Langning.
Among held-over matches for upcoming English Open, reigning world champion Ronnie O’Sullivan will clash against teenage prodigy Ben Mertens. Meanwhile, reigning champion Neil Robertson will begin his title quest with match against Andrew Pagett and fourth-seed Mark Selby will play Noppon Saengkham.
