Both Washington Sundar and Avesh Khan have fallen prey to injury to their finger and will end up missing the entirety of the tour

For Washington Sundar, representing India in England is turning out to be a nightmare.

After he was injured during the country’s 2018 tour of England after he suffered an ankle injury in Ireland, one which saw him skill the entirety of the white ball cricket series, Sundar has once again sustained an injury. The player has ended up injuring his finger, a plight which rules him out of the imminent test series against England.

Washington Sundar was recently in play for County XI against whom India are playing a three day warm up match prior to their series against England. With both James Bracey and Zak Chappell failing to get a clean bill of health for County XI, the BCCI had requested India for two players.

England vs India Test Series: Avesh Khan And Washington Sundar Sustain Finger Injury

India had ended up giving the hosts Washington Sundar and Avesh Khan, both of whom have sustained finger injuries during the contest. Avesh who had fractured his finger on day one of the practice match will end up missing the whole test series against England as well.

The two join Shubham Gill on the injury bed. The opener who had suffered a leg injury has already returned to India from England. The latest development is a massive setback to the hosts with Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane missing the practice match with slight injuries as well.

India meanwhile finally had some news to cherish in as Rishabh Pant once again linked up with the squad. Pant who had gone to watch the Euro 2020 summit clash had tested Covid positive recently and was self isolating.

Upon the end of his isolation, Pant has returned to the Indian camp with coach Ravi Shastri giving him a heaty welcome. India will be taking on England starting August 4 in the first of the five match test series.
