Egyptians And Liverpool Fans Lash Out At Mohamed Salah After His Tweet Condoling Death Of Queen Elizabeth II On Twitter
Today, the people of Great Britain and the world pay tribute and bid a final farewell to her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, commemorating her legacy and unwavering service. My thoughts are with the Royal Family on this historic and emotional day. pic.twitter.com/CdBq1cU2rT

From the history of the country he's from to the history of the club/city he plays for, this is beyond disgraceful. https://t.co/ydh1lPvaxe

Between Egypt's history with England and Liverpool's history with the English establishment I'm struggling to figure out who his social media team thought was the target audience for this Tweet. https://t.co/bXGz7NgCS9

He penned down, “My thoughts are with the Royal Family on this historic and emotional day.
However, his tweet wasn’t taken too well in the Arab world as he is an Egyptian footballer who plays forward for Premier League Club Liverpool and he’s a captain of Egypt’s national team.
The wishes done by Salah did not go down well in the Arab world and other African countries and most of them were at one point colonised by Great Britain.
Many Arabian took to their Twitter to remind him about the destruction that the British Empire had brought on to Egypt and other nations.
The British entered Egypt through Port Said in 1882 and they subsequently occupied it.
In 1952 after the Egyptian Revolution, the then President of Egypt, Gamal Abdel Nasser nationalized the Suez Canal Company, escalating tensions with Britain and France.
The 2 countries then colluded with Israel and attacked Egypt and the main battle occurred at Port Said.
Speaking of Egypt’s Footballer, many believe that his condolences message is a PR disaster.
However, it’s not the first time when Mohamed Salah has been caught between the ire of Muslim world.
Back in 2022, his Muslim credentials were cancelled for sharing a picture of himself with his family for Christmas. It was the 3rd time in a row that his Christmas pictures had upset his Muslim fans.
As his Muslim fans thought it was inappropriate for him to participate in religious activities of another faith.
Previously he was also attacked when Salah said that he doesn’t consume alcohol because he doesn’t feel like it.
To which many Islamists felt he should be a proud Muslim and say it as it is that alcohol is haram (prohibited) in Islam.
