The EFL Championship playoff will decide the third and final team that joins the Premier League next season.

Currently, Luton Town and Michael Carrick’s Middlesbrough are the only teams to have secured a playoff spot. The other two teams will be decided over the course of the final week.

As things stand, teams ranked from third to sixth in the final table will enter into the playoffs round. While the third-placed team will face the sixth, the fourth will face against the fifth-placed team. As such, there will be two semifinal games, with the winners facing each other in the final match at Wembley.

The two-legged EFL Championship playoff semifinals will take place on May 13/14 and May 16/17. The two victorious teams will then off in a winner takes all final at the Wembley stadium on Saturday on May 27, 2023.
