Hitman Sniper The Shadows is a sequel to the Hitman Sniper mobile title that launched in 2015. Square Enix presented the game at E3 2021
During a section of its E3 presentation dedicated to mobile games, developer Square Enix showed off a trailer for the upcoming title set in the Hitman universe. Furthermore, it was initially revealed by Square Enix Montreal in March, under the working title Project Hitman Sniper Assassins. According to reports, this game is set to launch on Android and iOS as a free-to-play title later in 2021.
Earlier, it was said that the game is titled Hitman Sniper Assassins, but later revealed as Hitman Sniper: The Shadows. Agent 47 who was a character in the previous sequel has disappeared and Diana Burnwood the handler is talking to a new protagonist, Agent 426, telling him about the events of the past.
E3 2021 Square Enix: When Can Fans Expect The Launch Of The Hitman Sniper New Game?
In the previous sequel of the game players (as Agent 47) were tasked with sniping a target from a safe vantage point. Moreover, there were more abilities like using powers of observation to make sure players did so as quickly as possible.
In the new E3 trailer it is revealed that Agent 426 is not a single person, but a group of five assassins code-named ‘The Shadows’. Moreover, the trailer shows a sniper taking a shot from an incredible distance, and he’s eventually joined by four other snipers, all carrying their weapons. Also, the individuals of the groups are named Kiya, Knight, Kolzak, Soji, and Stone.
While Diana the handler, makes an appearance, there is no appearance of Agent 47. Instead, the snipers in this game are members of the titular Shadows, an elite group of assassins.
Furthermore, the story says that a new threat has emerged globally. This criminal network is responsible for a series of violent attacks and crimes around the world. Diana Burnwood activates Initiative 426, aka The Shadows for the rescue.
Hitman Sniper: The Shadows will be released for iOS and Android. However, the date is not revealed, it is expected later in 2021. Also, the game will be free-to-play and the charges will be only for in-game purchases.
