His full name is Andrew Matthew Timme. He was born on September 9, 2000, in the US. Later, he was raised in the Dallas suburb of Richardson, Texas. Drew Timme did his schooling at J. J. Pearce High School. Later, he attended Gonzaga University.

Timme’s father, Matt Timme, played college basketball at Southern Methodist University, followed by a brief stint playing professionally in Europe and Drew’s mother Megan, whom Matt married not long after he returned from Europe, played tennis at Stephen F. Austin State University.

As a high school player, Drew Timme was a standout in District 8-6A and received recognition as the Most Valuable Player, as well as second-team All-State by USA Today. During his freshman year with Gonzaga, he played an important role as a reserve player and occasionally started in games.
