What Exactly Happened in Chapter 98
To begin Dragon Ball Super Chapter 98, we see that Gotenks and Cell Max’s fight has moved to Earth, as predicted, and as proven previously, Gotenks has no chance and must even come near to touching Cell Max.
Android 18 saw Cell Max knock Gotenks into the air, and then she saw Gotenks come crashing back down to the ground via a double axe attack. At this point, she probably thought Gotenks would be effective enough to crack Cell Max’s cranium, so she carried on with the assumption that he would.
After Android 18 knocks Gotenks back, we see him crash straight into Cell Max, which is reminiscent of the scene in the film where Gotenks cracks Cell Max’s cranium and draws everyone’s attention to him as the hero who can make a difference. It seems that Android 18’s assumption that Gotenks would be able to make a difference here was incorrect, as Cell Max instead unleashes a mouth blast that nearly consumes Gotenks’ hole, and Gotenks is then shown running away as Cell Max unleashes more of these mouth blasts.
He also said that he only wants him pinned down for a longer period of time than the last time, which will give him time to make his major move, and that you should get far away when he does.
