In the year 1990-91, the annual report of the Ministry of Sports & Youth affairs featured a cover page with Dr Sunita Godara’s winning photograph of the Kedah International Marathon (in Malaysia)
It was a fantastic memory to cherish as a marathoner for her.
She featured on the cover page of the Annual Report Book of the Sports Ministry, Govt of India. In the year 1991 Dr Sunita was declared the best marathoner in South East Asia winning 7 international marathons in a row in 3 countries.

In 1989 – 90-91-92 for 4 years Dr Sunita Godara was an unbeaten Marathon Champion.
With this record she won the Mercedes Benz in 1991 in Kedah, Malaysia and Dr Sunita Godara was declared a MARATHON QUEEN.
In the 1990s she was a household name in Malaysia.
Apart from the international marathons Dr Sunita won in India too.
