On Tuesday morning, Dr Om Shrivastav, a well-known infectious disease specialist and member of the state Covid-19 task team, died at Breach Candy Hospital.
His field fellows instantly flocked to Twitter to express their sadness after learning of his loss online. Many of them even expressed their thoughts to their family members, wishing them the courage to get through this tough period.

Dr Shashank Joshi, COVID-19 taskforce member, and endocrinologist said,
“Deeply sad to lose a close friend, a colleague and a fellow researcher Dr Shrivastav. He was a thinker, teacher and clinician. We all pray to the almighty that he attains Moksha. We pray for his family to bear this immense loss.”

Who Was Dr Om Shrivastav?
Dr Om Shrivastav was a well-known Indian doctor who was well-known for being an infectious disease specialist and member of the state Covid-19 task team. He has been in the news because he suddenly passed away.
He was from Mumbai, Maharashtra.
He did his schooling at Hill Grange High School. He later attended Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences. He pursued a degree of MBBS, MD-General Medicine, and Fellowship-Infectious diseases and immunology from Sydney, Australia.
He died on 27 April 2022 in Breach Candy Hospital. At the time of his death, he was 55 years old.
His Career
Dr Om Shrivastav was a renowned infectious disease specialist in Mumbai and before his death, he was practicing in Wockhardt Hospital, Mumbai Central, Mumbai, For the past 26 years, he has worked as an infectious disease physician and gained proficient skills and knowledge in the segments.
He was also a well-known member of the Swine Flu Death Review Committee, Maharashtra Communicable Diseases Prevention and Control Technical Committee, and State Advisory Committee H1N1.
At Jaslok Hospital in 2013, he played a key role in creating the first acute infectious illness management unit in a private environment.
He was also renowned for being a part of the state Covid-19 task team. Additionally, he was a vital contributor to the creation of infection control standards for several of the top hospitals in south Mumbai.
Cause Of Death Of Dr Om Shrivastav
On April 27, the 55-year-old experienced a heart attack and has been on a ventilator since. Later in the day, he succumbed to his condition.
