Tavierre Thomas was far from impressed with Jalen Green who slandered his hometown, Detroit

Dreaming of being the first overall pick, Jalen Green narrowly missed out to Cade Cunningham who was eventually snared by Detroit Pistons. While being the number two pick was still a noteworthy achievement for Jalen Green, he’s been unable to digest the fact that he didn’t end up as number one in the NBA draft.

He’s fumed ever since, talking about how he never wanted to end up in Detroit. The comments are bemusing given how he was on his feet prior to the picks, imploring Detroit to make him the number one pick.

While his request is now being cited to just being the number one overall pick, Green who was eventually snagged by Houston Rockets did look extremely eager on linking up with Detroit at one point of time. He’s taken little time to change colors though with him talking about how while he was dejected not to end up as the number one pick, he was glad he didn’t end up in Detroit at the end of the day.

He slandered the city, talking about its dull life and mundane happenings as he spoke about how there was nothing to do in Detroit apart from going to the gym and staying in your room.

His comments haven’t been taken to kindly since and rightfully so by residents of the city. Green has been lambasted online with NFL’s Houston Texans player, Tavierre Thomas asking Green to not wear his buffs if he ever came to the city.
