Dominic Drakes born on February 6th 1998 in Barbados. Drakes is the son of former West Indies international cricketer Vasbert Drakes. His father picked up 84 wickets while playing for West Indies in 12 tests and 34 ODIs.
The 23 year old made his first class debut in 2018 for Barbados and just a month later he made his List A debut as well in the Regional 50 for Barbados. In the same year he went on to make debut in the CPL with the Barbados Tridents.
He was one of the most talented prospects heading into the league at just 20 years old. In 2020, CPL team St Kitts and Nevis Patriots added him to their squad. The player quickly became one of the most important players for team.
His most memorable performance came in the final of CPL 2021 which was just last month. Drakes scored 48 runs in 24 balls to help his team win the CPL title. Drakes was even named as the man of the match for his impressive performance.

Drakes has played a total of 45 matches combined in First Class, List-A and T20 formats. Even at such a young age, Drakes has managed to produce impressive stats. Drakes has 447 runs and 48 wickets.
Drakes got his first ever IPL call up by Chennai Super Kings earlier this month after Sam Curran was ruled out because of injury. With the young player still awaiting to make his debut, he will look to make a name for himself in the league if and when he gets the opportunity to perform.

There has been no official reports of the contract and salary of Dominic Drakes. However, his IPL auction base price was 20,00,000 INR and it is believed that his salary should be around the same amount as well. This is only his first call up in IPL and his price will definitely increase as he gains more experience in the league.
