Does MLB sponsor Cameron Young and why is he sporting the league’s logo at The Masters Golf 2023
Current Masters leader Cameron Young is sponsored by Major League Baseball.
He grew up playing golf at the same club as MLB commissioner Rob Manfred and agreed to the endorsement deal when he turned pro.
The deal includes free tickets to any MLB ballpark.

Young has been sponsored by MLB since he was a young boy. The family has a tight relationship with MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred, who is also a member at Sleepy Hollow, and Cameron was trained by his father, who recently resigned as the head professional at Sleepy Hollow Country Club outside of New York City.
Young agreed when Manfred urged him to wear the MLB emblem while he was playing on mini-tours after turning pro. Since then, the sponsorship has persisted and has proven to be a fantastic alliance for both sides.
Nothing new since MLB has been sponsoring other golfers
It’s interesting to note that MLB sponsors other golfers besides Young. According to Golf.com, Peter Malnati, Billy Andrade, Brendon Todd, and Spencer Levin, all wore the MLB patch in 2015. Sports agent Dave Parker, who negotiated a deal for his client Shawn Stefani, was the source of the concept. Stefani earned some cash, but more crucially, she was given access to networking events and complimentary tickets to Houston Astros games.
Although MLB’s support of golfers may appear unexpected, there are certain similarities between baseball and golf fans. Several studies claim that baseball and golf fans share a similar demographic, so it makes sense for the MLB to introduce a hybrid sport. It’s also a fantastic method for the league to gain exposure to a new audience.
Although some people would find it strange that a baseball league would support a golfer, Cameron Young and the league have had success together thanks to the MLB sponsorship. Several golfers wearing the MLB patch have resulted from the crossover of baseball and golf fans, and it’s probable that we’ll see more in the future.
