According to police, Jeffrey Vandergrift’s bones were discovered in the sea close to Pier 39 in San Francisco on Wednesday night. Vandergrift hosted The JV Show on radio station KYLD Wild 94.9. On Thursday, a medical examiner affirmed that the deceased’s body was that of the adored personality, DJ JV.

He was 54 years old at the time of his death and attended American High School and went on to pursue a career in the music industry.
Jeffrey Vandergrift was the son of Ray Vandergrift, a veteran who served in the United States Military and in 2006, Jeffrey Vandergrift eloped with former Playboy model Natasha Yi, whom he had been dating for three years.
In 2021, Vandergrift was diagnosed with Lyme disease and shared his health difficulties with his audience but continued to host his morning program on Wild 94.9 and share details about his life with his fans. However, no cause of death has been revealed till now.

The San Francisco Police Department did not right away discover any indications of wrongdoing. The cause of his demise is being investigated through an autopsy. During the 1990s, he had been a constant on Bay Area radio, best known for his weekdays from 6 to 10am hosting of The JV Show.

Vandergrift’s wife, Natasha Yi, gave a heartbreaking update on her husband’s passing and pleaded for prayers. She continued, “We appreciate all of the support, love, and prayers from our family, friends, and the listeners of iHeartRadio as a whole. I really appreciate the love and support you have for JV.”

On the evening of February 23, Vandergrift, 55, was last seen leaving his San Francisco home. He didn’t tell anyone where he was going, according to the officials. After finding that Vandergrift’s bank accounts and phone had been inactive since the night he disappeared, one of DJ JV’s coworkers raised concern over his disappearance.
‘Our own JV’ had been missing since Thursday night’, according to a coworker who wrote on Facebook on February 27. The SFPD officially reported him missing this past Friday. His cell phone hasn’t recorded any activity since that time. His credit cards and other banking records, however, have not revealed any activity.
On social media, Vandergrift was inactive in the days before he vanished. The caption on his final Instagram post, which was published on August 20, 2022, nevertheless, seems to have been changed the week before he vanished. The post included a picture of Vandergrift sporting a Wild 94.9 shirt and said, “Thank you for a fantastic life-filed w pleasure, smiles, heartache & hardship. The journey has been wonderful. Your prayers and support meant so much.”
The DJ has had some health issues.
The well-liked DJ openly discussed his personal health issues with his audience in 2021. He described how receiving a Lyme disease diagnosis had an adverse effect on his body, causing him to experience “brain fog, dizziness, migraines, and impaired eyesight.”
