What Exactly Happened so far?
The previous chapter starts with the insect boss of level 50 who was the lord of the area. The insect lord attacked with the soul-screech voice attack. Everyone in the area got alerted about the lord. The demons quickly ran while Lin was just standing there with his army.
Lin summons didn’t have any soul so no form of any soul attack works on them. The lord even tried to pull Lin’s soul but his armor and skill severed the connection. Lin then attacks the boss with his own soul attack.
However, that’s when he saw the insect lord enter his 2nd form which was quite bigger than his older look. It also seems to have gained some intelligence as the monster didn’t attack summons with its soul. Instead, it directly ate the summons and skeletons.
Lin already had a large pool of mana and potions and he was ready to challenge the lord boss in a long-run fight. At the end of the chapter, we see Lin summoning his master trump card, Nihility, who looks very dangerous. It is now expected that he will finish the boss in the upcoming chapter.
