Rajkumar Kohli, who passed away on November 24, 2023, was a well-known Indian film director. He gained fame for directing popular Bollywood movies like “Dulla Bhatti” in 1966 and “Lootera” in the 1970s, starring Dara Singh and Nishi (who later married Kohli).

Armaan Kohli’s friend and publicist Vijay Grover confirmed the death of Rajkumar Kohli. According to Grover, Rajkumar Kohli went for a bath at 8 am and didn’t come out for a long time. Armaan got worried and broke the bathroom door and found him unconscious. Rajkumar Kohli suffered a cardiac arrest and his funeral is scheduled for the evening.

Rajkumar Kohli’s family and education

Rajkumar Kohli was born on 14 September 1930. He is survived by his wife Nishi and two sons namely Armaan and Rajnish. Kohli’s educational background is not known.

Rajkumar Kohli’s son, Armaan Kohli, started his acting journey in 1992 with his father’s film “Virodhi.” His dad directed him in a couple more movies like “Aulad Ke Dushman” (1993) and “Qahar” (1997). Armaan also appeared in “Jaani Dushman: Ek Anokhi Kahani” alongside stars like Sunny Deol and Akshay Kumar.

When Armaan’s Bollywood career didn’t take off, he entered Bigg Boss 7 in 2013, hosted by Salman Khan. During the show, he gained fame and attention for his relationship with fellow contestant Tanishaa Mukerji. Armaan made it to the finals of Bigg Boss 7.

Rajkumar Kohli directed several big-budget films with multiple stars. Notable ones include “Nagin” (1976) with Reena Roy, Sunil Dutt, Feroz Khan, Sanjay Khan, Rekha, and Mumtaz. He also directed “Jaani Dushman” (1979) featuring Reena Roy, Neetu Singh, Sunil Dutt, Sanjeev Kumar, Jeetendra, and Shatrughan Sinha.

Another successful film was “Bees Saal Baad” (1988) starring Mithun Chakraborty, Dimple Kapadia, Meenakshi Sheshadri, and Vinod Mehra. Throughout his career, he directed more than fifteen films.

Rajkumar Kohli wasn’t just a director; he also produced films in both Hindi and Punjabi.
