Masvidal and Covington were once the best of friends, but things quickly soured between them. Colby startled the world in one of his most well-known public jabs at Masvidal when he exposed Jorge’s covert ex-wife and the “true” mother of his children. Covington shared the following on Instagram: “Out here playing games with Mrs Masvidal. Great catching up with you Maritza!”
Colby’s post, which exposed Maritza Collado as Masvidal’s real wife, naturally ignited the world. The majority of people thought Iman Kawa, a businesswoman and chef by trade, was Masvidal’s wife. Covington, however, made a completely different claim and even went so far as to accuse Masvidal of concealing her from the public.
In addition, Covington implied that he was warming up to Maritza by posting a photo of the two of them together. As a result, many fans began to speculate that “Chaos” might actually be having an affair with Mrs Masvidal, and Jorge’s reaction to the whole situation was viewed as terrible. The two would ultimately square off at UFC 272, with Colby coming out on top.

Although Covington initially teased the world, he would later reveal more information. Colby gave more information on the subject in an interview with ESPN reporter Brett Okamoto. “I’m talking about his ex-wife, the mother of his children, Maritza, Maritza Collado; Maritza Masvidal, they’re still legally married… just ask him, why are you trying to delete Maritza from history? Why are you deleting her and wiping her away from the internet?”
Although Colby’s accusations are grave, there is little to no solid support for them. Masvidal also failed to acknowledge Colby or make an effort to counter his assertion. Fans consequently thought that what Colby claimed was the reality and that a significant secret had been uncovered. Masvidal made the decision to leave the Collado and have Iman Kawa, the sister of his manager Malki Kawa, appear as his wife in the official databases as a result.
Covington also mentioned the relationship between Maritza and both he and Masvidal. Colby claims that Maritza and Jorge met while the latter was a young fighter. Maritza thus provided a place to live and a roof over their heads for the combatants. Later on, Masvidal would go on to succeed financially, find sponsors, and even have two children with Collado.
He would later abandon her and become a “deadbeat parent,” though. The last accusation made by Colby has generally been disproved because Masvidal has frequently been spotted with his kids.
