Football supporters blasted the publication for demeaning Messi and Ronaldo.
The first issue of the acclaimed French magazine France Football appeared in 1946. The magazine also gives out the Ballon d’Or, football’s highest individual honour. In April 2019, a picture of the former Real Madrid player and Lionel Messi kissing on the cover of France Football. Additionally, the cover had the words, “Are you Messi or Ronaldo?”
The cover page was reportedly created by the Italian urban artist Tvboy. ‘Love is Blind’ was the name of the artwork when it initially appeared on a bus shelter in Barcelona in 2017. Tvboy’s design, meanwhile, draws inspiration from the well-known “Kissing Coppers” Banksy stencil. Two British cops are shown kissing in the movie “Kissing Coppers.” According to reports, the artwork fetched $446,986 in 2011.
Messi and Ronaldo never shared a meal together.
Although their friendship is not as “close” as France Football has suggested, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi still hold a great deal of respect for one another. Messi and Ronaldo have both frequently gushed over one another. The idea of the two celebrities dining together first surfaced in 2019.
Cristiano Ronaldo discussed his friendship with the Argentine captain during the 2019 UEFA Player of the Season Award event. Cristiano remarked that they shared the stage with each other for 15 years, and it is already difficult to have the same two men on stage at the same moment because he doesn’t know whether it has ever happened in football. They get along well, and although they haven’t eaten dinner together yet, he expects to do so in the future.
Although the two football greats haven’t yet had dinner, the possibility is still open. The fact that Messi and Ronaldo don’t often interact is one of the key reasons they haven’t dined together yet. The likelihood of their running into each other again is slim because both celebrities left Europe. Football supporters do, however, hope that Messi and Ronaldo will go out to dinner when they decide to hang up their boots.
