India’s golden boy made the 88.44 m throw on his second attempt to seal the trophy for India. Earlier in Lausanne on July 26, the Olympic gold medalist, won in style with a throw of 89.08m in his first attempt.

Moving on to the other events, in the men’s 200m final, American sprinter Noah Lyles created history by breaking Usain Bolt’s 200m record. Lyle led the way in 19.52 seconds.
