Dhanush Srikanth, the Telangana kid wonder, is breaking records after records, know his biography and Deaflympics 2022 performance
Only two years after taking up shooting, this 16-year-old deaf shooter has made it to the Indian national squad. Dhanush’s performance has won him a spot in the Asian Championships junior under-21 (U-21) men’s 10-m air rifle squad in Doha in November.

Dhanush, who was deaf from birth, recently established world records in national trials. He achieved a score of 252.5, surpassing the current senior final world record of 251.2. Dhanush trains at Gagan Narang’s Guns for Glory academy in Telangana and Pune, which is run by Olympic rifle shooter Gagan Narang. “I wish him the best in his future endeavors,” Narang tweeted shortly after his national performance. He’s on his way to making the Indian Junior Team, she said, and she was right.
Career:
16 year old Dhanush initially gained national recognition in January of this year, when he won the Khelo India Games and became the first deaf shooter to win a national medal in the regular category. Deaflympics Performance:
Dhanush shot 623.3 in qualifying to finish second behind Kim, who shot 625.1 to win. Shourya finished third with 622.7 points, ensuring that two Indians qualified for the final round.
Lastly, Kim started out strong in the final, leading Dhanush until the 18th shot of the 24-shot contest. When the single shots began after the tenth shot, the Indian recovered his bearings and gently but steadily gained ground on the Korean.

Dhanush’s coach, former national-level shooter Neha Chavan, claimed that his constant performance has helped him fulfill all of his goals.
