McCourty was raised in Nyack, New York, by his parents, Phyllis and Calvin. At the age of 34, his father died in 1990 from problems related to asthma.
The family is completed by Larry White, Devin’s older brother, and Jason McCourty, Devin’s identical twin. He and Jason were born 27 minutes apart, each weighing six pounds, and 13 ounces.
