The Derek Jeter documentary is finally here, the series – which Jeter originally wanted Spike Lee to direct will screen throughout six weeks, with two episodes coming this week. The first episode is well timed with the Home Run Derby 2022 which will premiere on the 18th July at 10 PM ET. The series will show how race played an important role in Jeter’s childhood, as well as his journey to the majors. The series will also feature how Jeter became a star player for the Yankees.
The series will also explore the evolving relationship between Derek Jeter with fellow Yankee Alex Rodriguez as well as explaining the ‘‘ importance of loyalty and trust to Jeter.ʼ’ We will also see the bitter Yankees/Red Sox rivalry in the coming episodes of ‘ The Champion’.
The role of Derek Jeter during the Yankees’ most historic loss in baseball history will also be explored in the series. The later years of Jeter’s career time and being the owner of the Miami Marlins will also be explored.
