Sanjay Arora has been appointed as the next Delhi Police Commissioner, this was announced by MHA in an order on Sunday, know his age and date of birth of the IPS
Sanjay Arora, who is a 1988-batch officer of Tamil Nadu cadre, was appointed the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) DG in August last year and he took charge of the India-China LAC guarding force on the 1st of September.

He age is estimated to be around 50-60 years but his date of birth is not known.

Sanjay Arora will be succeeding Rakesh Asthana, who is a Gujarat-cadre IPS officer. According to an official order, the competent authority has approved the inter-cadre deputation of Arora to the AGMUT cadre. Arora will take charge on Monday that is 1st August 2022 and will continue till further orders.
“The consequent upon inter-cadre deputation of Shri Sanjay Arora, IPS Director General, ITBP to AGMUT cadre, the competent authority has approved that Shri SL Thaosen, IPS (MP:88), who is the Director General, Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) shall hold additional charge of the post of DG, ITBP vice Shri Sanjay Arora, till the appointment and joining of the active incumbent or until further orders whichever is earlier,” MHA stated.
Sanjay Arora graduated with a bachelor’s degree in electrical and electronics engineering from Malviya National Institute of Technology, based in Jaipur, Rajasthan, India. After joining as an IPS, he worked in different capacities in the Tamil Nadu Police. He was superintendent of police (SP), a special task force, where Sanjay achieved significant success against the Veerappan gang. For his success, he was awarded CM’s Gallantry Medal for Bravery and Heroic Action.
Sanjay Arora was honored with the Police Medal for Meritorious Service in year 2004. The President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service in year 2014, also the Police Special Duty Medal, the Antrik Suraksha Padak and UN Peacekeeping Medal among others.
Sanjay also led as the Chennai City Police as additional commissioner of crime and headquarters and additional commissioner traffic.
1997 to 2000: He commanded a border guarding ITBP Battalion in Matli, Uttarakhand.
1997 to 2002: He served in the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) on deputation as Commandant.
2000 to 2002: Sanjay Arora made remarkable contributions in the field of training, serving as Commandant (Combat Wing) at the ITBP Academy, Mussoorie
2002 to 2004: He served as the Commissioner of Police, Coimbatore city.
In 2004, Sanjay Arora was awarded the Police Medal for Meritorious Service.
In 2014, President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service, Police Special Duty Medal, Antrik Suraksha Padak and UN Peacekeeping Medal among others.
