A Delhi-based cricketer is making headlines after reportedly becoming the victim of honey-trap and blackmailing after meeting a girl on a dating app but his name has been kept hidden
As per reports, although police haven’t disclosed the name of the victim, they have stated that on Sunday, Nov 6, a Delhi based cricketer has reportedly become the victim of blackmailing and extorting money.

As per police, they nabbed the three suspects in connection with the case late Saturday night. The three suspects arrested in the case have now been identified as Rishav Chanda, Subhonkar Biswas and Shiva Singh.
As per the investigators, the main mastermind of the honey-trapping has escaped, however, they are trying to track him down. Although, they haven’t revealed the identity of the mastermind.
As per a report by Zee News, the victim has come to Kolkata to participate in some matches at the end of October. At the time, he went through a dating app and came in contact with these accused.
On November 1, the victim met all these accused at a bus stop in Baguiati area. At the location, the accused showed some photographs to the victim to choose the person of his choice.
Later, he was introduced to a girl of his choice. However, the victim wasn’t aware that the private time that he was spending with her was being recorded secretly.
Following the incident, on the very same day, the 4 accused contacted the cricketer and showed him the secret recorded videos and demanded a hefty amount of money.
To save his reputation, the cricketer transferred around Rs. 60,000 to their accounts using Net-banking, meanwhile handling them gold chains and costly cell phones.
However, soon enough he started receiving frequent random calls. The cricketer on Nov 2, contacted the local police station of Baguiati and filed an FIR.
The authorities started the investigation in the case on Saturday, and arrested the 3 accused from the area, while the main accused, who is said to be the mastermind, is still on the run.
The further investigation is underway.
