According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Henderson has joined Palace for a contract worth $18.8 million, plus $6.2 million in add-ons. However, there are still many unanswered questions regarding his new club’s contract and salary. Before their No. 1 keeper, Vincent Guaita, left, Palace made the decision to sign the star. They considered the 26-year-old goalkeeper to be the ideal stand-in for the Spaniard.
Since the English goalkeeper returned to Old Trafford after finishing his loan assignment at Nottingham Forest, several rumours have circulated. According to the rumours, Forest was also considering hiring the player on a long-term contract. However, there was a discrepancy in the player’s asking price between Manchester United and Nottingham Forest. They couldn’t quite afford the $24 million transfer price.
Manager Steve Cooper then had the idea to focus on something else. Nottingham Forest turned their focus to Matt Turner, the goalkeeper for Arsenal. Henderson performed admirably brave saves for Nottingham Forest during his one-season stay. He played in 20 games for the team, allowed 33 goals, and recorded six clean sheets.
Salary of Dean Henderson at Manchester United
Over the past few seasons, Dean Henderson has served as Manchester United’s backup goalkeeper. He is a Manchester United youth graduate who gradually advanced to the starting lineup. In 2020, the English goalkeeper committed to playing for the first team. He committed to a five-year contract, and his weekly salary was about $1,25,770.
The player got off to a really promising start but eventually got lost. Henderson played 25 games for Manchester United during his time there, making 22 goals conceded and keeping 13 clean sheets. Many people believed that he may replace David De Gea as Manchester United’s starting goalkeeper upon his return from the loan period and the departure of the club’s legendary goalie.
Henderson has a net worth of $32 million.
However, the rumour proved to be unfounded because the former Sheffield star was passed up for the position. Former Ajax goalie Andre Onana was hired by manager Erik Ten Hag. Additionally, there were rumours that the English goalkeeper might remain in the team and serve as the backup keeper. However, Crystal Palace swooped in and paid $24 million to get the goalie. The player and Place have also agreed to terms, and both teams have finally achieved an agreement.
