DDA-Omaxe Dwarka Sports Stadium Delhi capacity, opening date, location address and cost price
Earlier, reports emerged online suggesting that the Delhi Development Authority, also called DDA, announced on Thursday that they are planning to construct the long-awaited Dwarka stadium soon.
What Did the DDA Say?
As per the announcement, the authorities will start the contradiction work by the end of 2024. The construction of the Dwarka Stadium is set to begin nearly two years after its inauguration by former Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena that was held in September 2022.
As per media reports, the project has been fast-tracked by the authorities, with a completion target set for September 2027.
About Dwarka Stadium
Reportedly, the Dwarka Stadium will be developed via a public-private partnership between the Delhi Development Authority and the real estate firm named Omaxe. This upcoming facility is expected to become a major sporting hun in the national capital in future.

The Dwarka Stadium which is set to be constructed in Sector 19-B will span over 50.4 actress and will feature integrated multi-sport facilities. It will include cricket and football stadiums with a seating capacity of reportedly over 30,000.

Additionally, this development will also include hospitality services. Earlier in a report, Omaxe confirmed that the necessary permissions have been secured by the authorities, with construction work set to begin by December 2024.
Wholly-owned subsidiary and special purpose company (SPC) of Omaxe Ltd, Worldstreet Sports Center Ltd, will be developing a multi sports facility consisting of an international cricket, football stadium, an indoor stadium, along with a retail and hospitality hub spread across an area of 54 acres in Dwarka for around โน1,500 crore under a PPP with the DDA.
The commercial facilities will be developed and maintained by the company on a leasehold basis for a period of 99 years and the 54-acre project will include indoor and outdoor stadiums spread across an area of 30-45 acres and retail space across 20 acres.
In addition to the main stadium, the DDA officials also revealed that the complex will house facilities for tennis, swimming, badminton, squash, and table-tennis and will accommodate about 2,000 spectators.
Moreover, a clubhouse with approximately 3,000 membership slots will be available, offering unlimited access to all facilities for members, and non-members. While non-members can only access the facilities on a pay-and-play basis, promoting broad public use.
As per media reports, all facilities, either it is sporting or hospitality, will be developed under a 99-year lease agreement. This project will join DDAโs roster of sporting developments, which reportedly currently includes 17 facilities.
In addition to the Dwarka Stadium, the DDA is also constructing Indiaโs longest 18-hole golf course in Dwarka. However, itโll be constructed in Sector 24 and is expected to be ready by the end of October 2024.
