Stefanos Tsitsipas aims to accomplish the same feat against Ecuador as he did against Tunisia in World Group II in September. The world number three, with the aid of his brother Petros, might advance the Greeks to World Group I for the first time following his run to the Australian Open final.

Holger Rune, another top-10 player in the World Group I Play-offs, advanced to the fourth round in Melbourne. He is leading Denmark against India, who defeated them 4-0 in their previous meeting, also in the World Group I Play-offs, in New Delhi one year ago.
