Former Manchester City and Spain midfielder David Silva was fined £1,050 after being convicted of assaulting a woman during a brawl.

According to court documents, the incident occurred during the June 19 carnival celebration in Spain’s Canary Island. In the course of the celebration, a fight broke out between a group of people and Silva’s companions. During the fight, Silva grabbed the woman’s arm to push her aside, which caused her to fall to the floor. Multiple reports indicate that the victim sustained multiple injuries, including pain, bruising and abrasions to the left elbow and knees.
Following the incident, he was fined £1,080 by the Spanish court after he admitted to being responsible for the incident. Along with Silva, two people were also convicted of injuring people during the brawl. One was fined, while the other was sentenced to eight months’ imprisonment.
David Silva currently plays for Real Sociedad in La Liga. David Silva was also part of Spain’s 2010 world cup winning squad. During his tenure at Man City, he won four Premier League titles.

David Silva began playing football with the UD San Fernando youth team. In the early days of his career, he started playing as a goalkeeper, before turning into a winger and sculpting his game around his football idol, Michael Laudrup. At the age of 14, he received an offer to be a member of the Valencia CF youth team, which he accepted and stayed with Valencia’s youth set up until turning 17.
As a product of the Valencia youth system, Silva made his professional debut in 2004-05 and played 35 matches with five goals.
