Mooney has been instrumental for the Chicago Bears.
In 12 games with Chicago in 2022, Mooney caught 40 catches for 493 yards and two touchdowns. The Bears will be without Mooney as he is anticipated to go on season-ending injured reserve. Chase Claypool, Equanimeous St. Brown, Byron Pringle, Dante Pettis, N’Keal Harry, and rookie Velus Jones Jr. are the only receivers left for Chicago at this time.
During a run play against the New York Jets in the third quarter, the Bears’ premier wide receiver was rolled up. To leave the field at MetLife Stadium, Mooney immediately needs help with his ankle.
Mooney will be out for the rest of the season.

Despite not making the box score as a receiver, Darnell Mooney contributed as a blocker on a David Montgomery 14-yard run early in the third quarter.
Sadly, that might be the last time we see Mooney for some time. The FOX broadcast showed Mooney walking off the field after he appeared to suffer a leg injury. Simply said, this is bad, and I detest that it is happening at all:

Brutal. Eddie Jackson, a safety, was the first to leave after hurting his foot. Trainers are currently assisting Mooney as he exits, without placing any weight on his leg. What a terrible turn of events for a Bears squad that was already struggling on numerous fronts.
