She graduated with a first-class degree in Business and, had plans to study further at a business school while balancing studies with her professional play. One of her most amazing feats was winning the NCAA Singles championship while she was on varsity.

After playing and participating for three years, that too at a very tender age of only eighteen. Collins kept on winning the singles title in the Circuit with surprising the rest of the contestants. After this win, she took a two-year break from the professional games for some personal reasons although insiders suggest this was a move to focus on her education.

After the two years of break, Danielle returned back to professional playing in 2014 and participated in the US Open for the year where she managed to knock off the celebrated S Halep from her second position while still in the first round.
