Daniel Bryan AEW Wrestler, Salary, Net Worth, Contract And Career
Most popularly known for the immortal ‘YES!’ chant among the WWE Universe, Daniel Bryan debuted on the independent pro-wrestling circuit in 1999 and then signed an 18-month contract with the then WWF next year. Before signing up with WWE again in 2009, he had a few stints with Ring of Honor, Pro-Wrestling Noah and also New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW).
Upon his return to WWE, he rose to fame becoming the 26th Triple Crown Champion and the 15th Grand Slam Champion. He was also crowned Mr. Money in the Bank in 2011 and Superstar of the Year at the 2013 Slammy Awards. 2016 saw him retire from wrestling in 2016 due to seizures and a brain lesion, resulting from multiple concussions.
He then took on the role of Smackdown’s on-screen general manager of SmackDown till the doctors unexpectedly cleared him to wrestle in 2018. His WWE contract expired in May 2021 and as of September 2021, he is signed up with AEW.
Why did Daniel Bryan choose to leave WWE?
The question should rather be why Daniel Bryan chose to ‘join’ AEW, because apparently the comments he made after the All Out event do not put WWE under a negative light. This is unlike CM Punk and many other ex-WWE stars who have shifted to AEW in the recent past after being released.
Danielson told instead that WWE had been very gracious to him and his relationship with Vince McMahon was also cordial. The company was going to let him work with other companies and even offered him big money before he signed up with AEW. Despite all this, he joined AEW because even while watching it through a TV screen, the promotion felt so good and vibrant to him that he wanted to be a part of the magic.
Thank you to the men and women who have worked so hard to make @aew what it is today. I’m still buzzing from last night, and that was only possible because of what you built.
