However, the Catalan fans will have to wait before Alves is allowed to play for the club in his second debut. Why is his debut delayed and till when? Well, the Brazilian was signed by Barca at a time when the transfer window had long closed and hence he will have to wait for the new transfer window to open up in January when he will officially be registered as a Barca player. He will not be available to play for the Spanish giants before January 3rd, 2022.

Dani Alves has signed a contract with Barcelona which will see him play for the club until June 2022. According to renowned Italian Journalist Fabrizio Romano, the agreement for Alves with Barcelona will include a clause to extend the contract until June 2023, meaning Alves might bring in his 40th birthday at the Camp Nou in May, 2023.

The Brazilian’s salary has been locked at 900,000 Euros/ $1m for the period of his brief spell at the club that will end in June 2022 should he extend his contract for another year. So this means Alves will make a modest 28,000 Euros a week.

However, the club has decided his release clause to be that of a staggering 100 million Euros, which shows that Barca has serious plans to retain the Brazilian star and that he might as well retire at the club he so dearly calls his home.
