Tony Rees Motorcycle, his father’s company, acknowledged his death in a Facebook post. “It is with a heavy heart that we confirm Damon Rees #92 has passed away,” the post said. He waged a valiant struggle against his sickness but died in the early hours of the morning surrounded by love and affection.”
Who is Damon Rees?
New Zealand championship motorcycle rider Damon Rees has established his name in the racing industry.
After leaving New Zealand at the beginning of 2020, he competed in the National Superstock 1000 Championship for two seasons. Rees got his maiden podium finish in his rookie season and an amazing eighth-place finish.
For the next season, he joined Ashcourt Racing and raced a BMW S1000RR alongside British Supersport rider Lee Johnston. Rees stayed with the team the next season but switched to a Yamaha R6 and competed in the Supersport class.
For the 2018 season, Rees has joined the Carl Cox Motorsport with Uggly & Co. by Binch Racing squad, continuing his Supersport career on a Yamaha.
Binch Racing said in a statement, “It is with a very heavy heart that we confirm Damo passed away last night. Despite putting up a fight and fighting as hard as he could, he was simply too sick.”

Damon Rees married his wife, Talia Rees, six months ago. His wife also expressed her condolences for Rees’ loss, writing in an emotional message, “You are now my Guardian Angel and my forever sunshine. Your heart was simply too huge for this earth, and we all now have a piece of you.”
According to sources, he attempted to support his family. Damon Rees and his family were helped by the Givealittle website throughout his extensive treatment at Hull Hospital. Well-wishers have shown amazing support for the website, with donations approaching $20,000.
