Prior to his passing in 2018, Paul Allen was the owner of the Portland Trail Blazers and the Seattle Seahawks. His sister Jody is now in charge of managing his estate, which includes both teams.
Both of the teams Allen owns—she also oversees the Seattle Seahawks—are now not up for sale, according to Allen.

In the narrative, Allen is also accused of harassing many members of her security staff while allegedly transporting animal bones out of Africa and Antarctica.
Lillard, meanwhile, has reportedly previously expressed discontent with Portland, according to Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports, who wrote the following on June 27, 2021:
According to league insiders speaking to Yahoo Sports, “the significant response from the Portland Trail Blazers’ process to find a new coach and his doubts about whether a championship challenger can be constructed have become elements that may push the franchise player—Damian Lillard—out the door.
“Lillard has stuck by Portland in large part because of the amazing fan base. However, during the past several days, he has witnessed some of those same fans criticising him on social media for an upcoming coaching job that he had no involvement in making,” according to insiders.
Before being suspended for the whole season, Lillard had been averaging 24.0 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 7.3 assists in 29 games.
