Despite surprise withdrawal of defending champion Sam Sunderland due to injury, 2023 Dakar Rally continued on Monday with stage two across all categories. Following his strong finish as winner on the day, Mason Klein saw himself end at the top of bike category standings.

Dakar Rally 2023 schedule, date, venue, format, race track, & other details
The 45th Dakar Rally, which will take place in Saudi Arabia, will be a rally raid competition and be run by the Amaury Sport Organization (ASO). Between December 31, 2022, and January 15, 2023, the event will occur. This will be Saudi Arabia’s fourth time serving as the host country. Additionally, it has been revealed that this event will serve as the opening round of the 2023 World Rally-Raid Championship for the second consecutive year.

In the United States, NBC Sports has announced they will have daily coverage of the 2023 Dakar Rally from January 1 through January 15 and broadcasting starts every day at 6:30 p.m. ET on Peacock and will entail 30-minute programs.
In addition, CNBC will present three hour-long encore presentations throughout the event (Sat., Jan. 7 at noon ET, Sun., Jan. 8 at 11 a.m. ET, and Sun., Jan. 15 at noon ET) that will be streamed on NBCSports.com and NBC Sports app.

On June 5, 2022, the race’s course was unveiled with the route scheduled to begin in a “Sea Camp” close to Yanbu on the Red Sea coast before culminating in Dammam on the Persian Gulf coast. This year, the course has three stages, including the marathon stage, and it makes a return to the Empty Quarter. With less liaison and 5,000 kilometers of special stages, the route will include 70% new tracks. The route’s precise details were made public by the organizers in November. It has been noted that the path is longer, more challenging, and contains more dune fields.

2023 Dakar Rally: latest results, winners, & stage three schedule
After clinching victory in stage two of bike category, Mason Klein of United States is leading the pack with prologue stage winner Toby Price in second place. Meanwhile, Spanish driver Joan Barreda has continued his consistent run to finish the day with third place in the standings despite not winning any stage.
Elsewhere in the quads category, French driver Alexandre Giroud has held to his lead after winning stage two ahead of nearest rival Manuel Andújar. With his second victory in three stages, fans believe that Giroud will be the overwhelming favorite to finish as the winner of this year. During stage-3 on Tuesday, race will begin from Al-‘Ula and finish at Ha’il with the distance spanning over 669 km.
