Ethan Boyes, an American cycling champion, was killed on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, while bicycling in San Francisco, know about his age, family, wife and net worth

When the accident happened on Arguello Boulevard close to the Presidio Golf Course and the Presidio Loop trailhead, Boyes was riding in a public park within the Presidio of San Francisco.

Around 4 p.m. on that day, emergency personnel were summoned right away, and cycling authorities announced his demise on Friday, April 7. Boyes’ friends erected a “ghost bike” and a banner saying that a “drunk driver killed our friend” close to the location.

Boyes was hurt seriously enough to die.

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, the 44-year-old had life-threatening wounds and was brought to the hospital, where he passed away. Paramedics also transported the car’s driver, who had non-life-threatening injuries as well. The US Park Police is still looking into the collision.

The authorities did not disclose whether the driver was detained or whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision. However, a representative for the family asserted that law enforcement was unable to confirm an arrest but that the driver had been held. Shaana Rahman, a representative for the family, told The Chronicle on Thursday night that Ethan was “a very accomplished cyclist and well recognised in the bicycle community.” For the family and the San Francisco cycling community, this death is extremely tragic.

Boyes’ girlfriend informed several of his cycling friends about the awful news. Boyes was struck head-on by a car when he was riding in a bike line, according to Brian Keyte, owner of Paragon Fit Studio. The automobile turned across the centre line and into the bike lane, according to “multiple eyewitness statements.”

“The news of Ethan Boyes’ passing has left USA Cycling in great sorrow. In the Men’s 40-44 Time Trial and Sprint competitions, Ethan was the defending Masters’ Track World Champion. He was also a member of the winning Team Sprint squad,” Officials from USA Cycling sent KRON a statement.

Boyes also won the national cycling championship 10 times during the course of his career. Ethan presently owns multiple national records in addition to the World’s Best Performance record for Men Ages 35 to 39 in the 1,000-meter time trial set in 2015.
