In the interview with Piers Morgan, Cristiano Ronaldo revealed that he feels “betrayed” by Manchester United, and further claimed that certain individuals within the club want to force him out.

Although the show hasn’t aired the full interview it has released some quotes to promote the programme. Moreover, Morgan also produced a written version of the interview for the Sun newspaper.

In the first clip, viewers can see Ronaldo claim that he feels “betrayed” by individuals at Manchester United several times. He claims ten Hag is part of that group, as well as those at the “senior executive level.”

Morgan question Ronaldo if he feels like he’s being forced out. Ronaldo replies, yes and that it is not only the coach, but also a few others around the club. He further states that some people don’t seem to want him here, not just this year but since last year.

Ronaldo also made some harsh comments on current Man United boss Erik ten Hag. He stated that he doesn’t have for Ten Hag because he doesn’t show respect to him. The Portuguese forward shared that if Ten Hag doesn’t show respect for him, he will never have respect for him as well.

Manchester United’s Response

Following the released clips, Manchester United issued a statement the next day in response to Ronaldo’s interview. The club noted the media coverage regarding an interview by Cristiano Ronaldo. It also stated that it will consider its response after establishing the full facts.

The club further stated that their current focus remains on preparing for the second half of the season.
