Cristiano Ronaldo Transfer News And New Club: 5 Clubs Where The Player Could Land As Reports Of Him Leaving Juventus Gain Steam

Let’s take a look at the top teams that could sign Cristiano Ronaldo during the 2021/22 season and become his new club

Cristiano Ronaldo started the first game of the new Serie A season against Udinese on the bench. This left netizens wondering whether the 36-year old will remain at the club or will we see him leave Italy for a new destination.

Cristiano Ronaldo Said To Be Interested In Leaving Juventus

Cristiano Ronaldo once again displayed an amazing performance at the Euros this year, having bagged the golden boot for 5 goals in 4 matches for Portugal. However, on Sunday night, fans were left confused about the Portuguese star not starting the first game of the season for Juventus against Udinese.

There have been some rumours doing the rounds lately about Ronaldo leaving Juventus to join other clubs. Juve legend and Vice-President Pavel Nedved told broadcaster DAZN that it was a mutual decision taken between Cristiano and returning-coach Massimiliano Allegri to not start the Portuguese star against Udinese.

Nedved said, “You shouldn’t try to create sensationalised stories where there aren’t any. He isn’t at peak fitness, and the coach tried to pick the best possible line-up for now.”

“The decisions were made in order to be as competitive as possible today. He is absolutely staying at Juventus.”

Cristiano Ronaldo’s Future at Juventus

Amid speculations of him leaving the club, Sky Sport Italia claimed that Ronaldo asked for him to not be picked in the opening match because he still considers exiting Juve before the end of this month, when the transfer window closes.

However, on Friday Allegri said that Ronaldo wants to stay and finish his fourth and final season of his contract with Juve, despite the speculations that he is trying to leave.

Cristiano Ronaldo Transfer New: 5 sides that could sign Ronaldo if he leaves and become his new club

1. Manchester City:  Having signed Jack Grealish this season, it does look unlikely for Man City to sign Cristiano Ronaldo. But City can definitely do with a striker like CR7. Let’s also not forget the beef between Ronaldo and Pep Guardiola that stemmed from the famous 5-0 El Clasico where Jose Mourinho’s Real Madrid were left humiliated by Guardiola’s Barcelona.

2. PSG: The French giants have already signed Lionel Messi, but you never know. If PSG signs Ronaldo, it’ll be a dream come true to watch two of the greatest footballers of all-time play together.

3. Manchester United: This move does seem a bit realistic, considering the fact that it’s the club where Ronaldo won his first Champions League trophy and gained enormous success under Sir Alex Ferguson. Man United fans would certainly welcome the Portuguese star with open arms.

4. Real Madrid: Having won 4 Champions League trophies during his tenure at Real Madrid, the Los Blancos fans might be happy to see their greatest-ever player to be back at Santiago Bernabeu. Also, now that Carlo Ancelotti is the new head coach of Real, Cr7 won’t have much problems adjusting to his style of play since they’ve already worked together before Zinedine Zidane’s stint as manager.

5. Sporting Lisbon: Going back to where it all started would surely be something that Ronaldo would fancy. But even though he is 36, CR7 still has the mentality of a 25-year old. And some people believe that he would like to end his career at a top-tier club rather than go back to Sporting.
