Ronaldo issued a statement following the contract signing, saying: “I am excited to experience a new football league in a different country. The vision of what Al Nassr are doing and developing in Saudi Arabia both in terms of men’s and women’s football is very inspiring. ”

Al-Nassr has included a unique condition in his new contract, which is very similar to the one previously signed by Lionel Messi. In accordance with the terms of the deal, Ronaldo has been requested to serve as an ambassador for Saudi Arabia’s bid to host the World Cup in 2030. It is expected that the Middle Eastern nation will submit a combined proposal with Egypt and Greece for the 2022 event.

It has been reported that Ronaldo’s visit to Saudi Arabia is being treated as a “matter of state” because of the positive publicity he will generate for the country abroad. Even Messi represented Saudi Arabia as an ambassador.
