She began playing cricket at the age of eight when her father enrolled her and her older sister in the school’s cricket programme. Yastika used to get excited to see women’s cricket develop and aspired to get there. She had strong parental support, but her neighbours frequently criticised her father for enrolling his daughter in this sport.
Yastika Bhatia’s Debut At The Cricket
She first started playing at the Baroda U-19 team and later got selected in the U-19 National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru along with 24 other girls. In 2016, she emerged as a key player in taking her side to a victory by scoring 230 runs with an average of 115 and also scored her maiden one-day century with 131 runs against Maharashtra.
In 2019, she was selected for the Indian-A women’s team for the tour of Australia. She also played against Bangladesh in One-dayers.

The 21-year-old, left-handed batter earned herself a place in Indian Cricket Team in 2021. In a one-off test match played at Carrara Oval in September versus Australia, the wicketkeeper-batter also made her Test debut. She was a member of India’s squad for both the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, where she helped her country win a silver medal, and the Women’s ODI Cricket World Cup 2022.
