Uncapped player Saika Ishaque, according to former Indian cricketer Mithu Mukherjee, had contemplated quitting the game in 2020.

Ishaque was praised for being exceptional when she first entered the game and continued to be excellent up until a shoulder injury in 2018 ended her career.

With 15 wickets in nine games and an economy rate of 7.01, the left-arm spinner is just one wicket behind UP Warriorz’s Sophie Ecclestone in second place in the WPL 2023.

On October 8, 1995, Saika Ishaque, an Indian women’s cricketer, was born in Kolkata, West Bengal. The left-handed hitter was first introduced to the game by her father, who passed away 15 years ago. The names of her parents aren’t known.

Saika Ishaque was born and raised in the south Kolkata slum of Park Circus. Cricket substantially alleviated the struggles her family was facing. Her lack of internal drive as a result of being dropped from the Bengal cricket team did not help her cause.
