Domestic career
He represented Uttar Pradesh in the Under-16, Under-19 and Under-23 levels and Central Zone at the Under-19 level. He made his List A cricket debut for Uttar Pradesh at the age of 16 in March 2014, scoring 83 runs in the match.
On November 5, 2016, he made his first-class debut for Uttar Pradesh in the 2016–17 Ranji Trophy.
With 803 runs in nine matches in the 2018–19 Ranji Trophy group stage, he was Uttar Pradesh’s best run-scorer. He scored 953 runs in 10 matches to win the championship.

Indian Premier League
For the 2017 Indian Premier League, he was purchased by the Kings XI Punjab franchise in February 2017. In the 2018 IPL auction, he was purchased by the Kolkata Knight Riders in January 2018.
Due to a knee injury, Rinku was ruled out of the 2021 Indian Premier League and was replaced by Gurkeerat Singh Mann.
In the auction for the 2022 Indian Premier League, he was purchased by the Kolkata Knight Riders in February 2022.
Suspension
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) issued Singh a three-month suspension on May 30, 2019, after he participated in the Ramadan T20 Tournament in Abu Dhabi without first asking permission.
